Solid tumor surgery

Sur'Touch introduces a new paradigm in solid tumor surgery, allowing an “in vivo” detection for complete tumor limit in surface and in-depth assessment. Our surgical radar enables the surgeon to remove all diseased tissue, including micro-metastasis, even for tumors nestled beneath  a layer of normal tissue. 

Skin tumor resection

Melanoma is not the most common type of skin cancer (<10%), but it is the most serious and the most lethal because it often spreads .  Surgery is the definitive treatment for early-stage melanoma for which positive or close histological margins are unacceptable.

For non-melanoma skin cancers,.the goal of Mohs surgery is to remove as much of the skin cancer as possible with clear margins, while doing minimal damage to surrounding healthy tissue.

Endometriosis surgery

The best results, in terms of improvement of symptoms and quality of life are achieved by complete surgical excision of all endometriotic implants. 

Sur'Touch  will help the surgeon to differentiate endometriotic lesions from healthy tissue, through surgical “open approach” or laparoscopy, to obtain clear margins and complete resection of abnormal tissue. 

Biological Fluid detection

67 Million people worldwide sustain a traumatic brain injury each year of which some 1,2-1,4 Million incur Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) leakage. Our sensors will allow a real time non-invasive accurate diagnosis for every patient with a suspected CSF leakage , even those with respiratory assistance, making this diagnosis very easy.

As a consequence of the complexity of spinal surgery, there is a greater prevalence of dural tear causing cerebrospinal fluid leakage with major incidence on morbidity and surgical outcomes.

Premature rupture of membranes leads to a greater risk of complications for the foetus and the mother with higher morbidity and mortality rates. There is currently no simple and accurate test on the market to confirm amniotic fluid leakage.

Devices for active treatments

Sur'Touch  combines an “all in one” specific  device, the precision of "real time" tumour detection with the performances of Electroporation.

Irreversible electroporation is a predominantly nonthermal and adjacent structure–sparring ablation method that has been proven safe and efficient in the treatment of tumors .

Electrochemotherapy uses reversible electroporation to temporarily increase membrane permeability in order to introduce various substances in the cell for tumors or chronic wounds management.

Veterinary surgery

Cancer is one of the major causes of morbidity in veterinary patients, and surgical removal of tumors is one of the most common surgical procedures performed by veterinarians.

 In veterinary medicine, surgery is considered the most important component of treatment in dogs and cats suffering from solid tumors because, in many cases, surgery offers the best chance for improving patients quality of life. Wide resection of the tumor with clear margins offer the best prognosis for animals .
